Why Tyga? What are the benefits?

Observe the modern-day-cat and you’ll see digestion issues, obesity, arthritis, etcetera. Crack open a tin of [Redacted] and you’ll find carbs, fillers, and meat-adjacent products.

Coincidence? We think not. That’s why we started making gently cooked, real food with Aussie meat and superfoods.

So, what's real food?

It's the kind you'd find in your own kitchen: human-grade, fresh, and full of nutrients. You'll find only muscle meats, organs, and superfoods in our meals.

But because cat's needs are a little more nuanced than just healthy ingredients, Tyga is developed by Board Certified Veterinary Nutritionists. These are the experts who make sure your cat's getting the complete and balanced nutrients they need no matter how old they are, from kitten to senior.

Why Tyga works for cats

  • High moisture: Cats are desert creatures, they don’t naturally drink much, even when a water bowl is sitting right there. So food has to do the heavy lifting to keep them hydrated.
  • High protein: Cats are obligate carnivores, which means meat is mandatory.
  • Low carbs: Cats have no dietary requirements for carbs and do best on a meat-based diet. In conventional dry cat food, the carb content can sometimes outweigh the protein.
  • Gently cooked: Our meals are gently cooked at up to 85°C, which protects nutrients, makes it easy to digest, and helps keep it safe for eating. It also still smells and tastes like food, which satisfies even the most discerning of palates.

Benefits of real food

  • Digestion: Fresh, gently cooked food is much easier on your cat’s stomach than ultra-processed pebbles.
  • Weight: Our high-protein, low-carb meals help your cat keep a trim figure.
  • Joints: The ideal ratio of omega-6s to -3s supports healthy joints.
  • Hairballs: Our meals have the ideal mix of fibre which isn’t just good for the litter box. It also helps with that hacking hair ball habit.
  • Urinary tract: We’ve got the recipe for a healthy urinary tract: high-moisture meals, only natural sources of phosphorous, and urinary-tract-friendly foods.
  • Skin and coat: Skin and hair (or in your cat’s case, coat) love a diet rich in omega-3s.
